Angela was a Franciscan lay member in the middle ages. She is known for her mystical revelations. She is pictured with the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi and a view of Assisi below her. Animals are depicted with her to show her association with the Franciscan movement's focus on animals.
The Dancing Monk series is a collaboration between Pennsylvania painter Marcy Hall of Rabbit Room Arts, and author Christine Valters Paintner of Abbey of the Arts, a virtual monastery based in Ireland.
