Howard Thurman was an American theologian and educator as well as a writer, philosopher, and civil rights leader. He became a mentor to other leaders such as Martin Luther King, Jr. In 1944, he co-founded the first major interracial and interdenominational church.
The Dancing Monk series is a collaboration between Pennsylvania painter Marcy Hall of Rabbit Room Arts, and author Christine Valters Paintner of Abbey of the Arts, a virtual monastery based in Ireland.

Marcy’s artistry never disappoints! We have a number of her icons and being able to add one of my mentors, Howard Thurman, to our collection is a tremendous blessing!!
