Melangell of Powys, Dancing Monk

Shipping to United States: Free

Revered as the Patron Saint of Hares, Melangell fled her home to avoid her arranged marriage to find peace in Powys, living as a hermit. Fifteen years passed before she saw the face of a man, who happened to be the Prince of Powys! He was hunting and pursuing a rabbit that had ducked under Melangell's robes for protection. Amazed by her religious devotion and her fearlessness, the Prince was inspired to gift her the land on which she lived for her and anyone, person or animal, seeking sanctuary. It was here that she founded her monastery and lived out her days in peace.

The print measures 5"x10" and is mounted on an 11"x14" matteboard.

Original concept and execution! Marcy obviously knows her rabbits and her saints. I especially liked the slogan; it's evidence she really understands the story of St. Melangell. Highly recommended for anyone who believes that sanctity and silliness are closely related.

The print is even more beautiful than the photo. We are thrilled with our new addition! Thank you so much!
